Easter 2013

Standard

After getting this fantastic idea from my friend Julie, I created our own Count Down to Easter Cross.  I love how at Christmas time we prepare our hearts daily for the birth of our Savior with advent readings.  I wanted something similar for Easter, the time we celebrate the hope we have in Jesus.  My desire to make this was to teach my children (and remind myself) of the Old Testament prophecies regarding the Messiah’s death and resurrection and match them to New Testament scripture showing how Jesus fulfilled these prophecies.

We start with a white cross with the Old Testament references to prophecies.  Each day we read one of those scriptures and find the puzzle piece of the fulfillment in New Testament.  Below is the chart of scriptures we use.

I love these kids!
